Support Workers Job Description / Person Specification

Support workers will receive all mandatory training including common induction standards, health and safety, infection control, COSHH, fire awareness, documentation and record keeping, safeguarding, food hygiene, equality and diversity.  They will also receive training relevant to the person they support such as Epilepsy, managing challenging behaviour, autism awareness, medication administration, mental capacity act, deprivation of liberty, learning disabilities.  Once established in position all support workers are encouraged to complete a level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care covering the autism units.


Senior Support WorkersJob Description / Person Specification

In addition to the above, senior support workers would also complete leading the team, supervision for supervisors, and advanced medication training.  It would be expected that seniors either have or are willing to work towards a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care.
